We are on track to deliver on our promise of substantial carbon reductions by 2030 and 2040
While our total CO2 emissions from scope 1,2 and 3 have increased in absolute terms in 2024 as a result of acquisitions and higher business activity, the underlying efficiency is improving. CO2 intensity measured as CO2/hl has declined by 12% since our base year 2019 (restated).
With respect to scope 1 and 2, we currently have approved plans to reduce our footprint by 92%. For scope 3, we are targeting 60% reduction by 2030 and net zero by 2040. Initiatives to reduce our value chain carbon footprint include but are not limited to: optimization of processes, higher share of no/low sugar, increased reuse and recycled content of pacaking material, transportation based on renewable energy, and more efficient coolers at our customers’ premises.
